My name is Michael Cooper, and I was born and schooled in Zimbabwe (Rhodesia). I completed 2 years of National Service as a pilot in the Rhodesian Air Force, and I then moved to South Africa where I completed a Bachelor of Science Degree.
I moved to Sydney in 1981, with my family, and I subsequently completed undergraduate degrees in Dentistry and Medicine. I qualified as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon when I passed my Fellowship examination in 1995. I have been in specialist practice in Canberra since that time. I currently hold the rank of Squadron Leader in the specialist reserves.
I have two young boys who keep me active, and my interests include flying, golf, cycling/running and Tae Kwon Do.
